Job description

We provide inpatient and outpatient care for people at every point in their journey from illness or injury to the most advanced state of recovery they can achieve. The Graduate Patient Care Technician performs a variety of patient care activities at Gaylord hospital. Working under the direction the RN, the PCT’s have valuable exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and skills while working in a warm and friendly atmosphere with supportive, interdisciplinary teams. With an average patient length of stay 25 -30 days, the PCT is able to develop strong relationships and play a key role in the recovery of our patients

Qualifications:
  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of Gaylord Hospital's Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program required prior to hire
  • Proof of Certification testing date required or must provide prior to hire

WORK SCHEDULE: Varied schedule- every other weekend/holiday rotation

Gaylord nursing units offer a variety of skills such as:

Milne Units: Step down/progressive care unit of level of care includes:

  • Continuous telemetry monitoring
  • Ventilator support and weaning
  • LVAD patient population
  • Heart Transplant population

Lyman 1 & Hooker 1: Medical Units offer skills such as:

  • Stroke
  • Complex wounds
  • Telemetry
  • Pulmonary care

Lyman 2 & Hooker 2: Specialty Units are CARF Accredited with a focused patient population:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Stroke
  • Spinal cord Injury
