Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to develop individualized therapy strategies tailored to the unique needs of each client.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused short therapy.
• Provide therapeutic support to a diverse clientele, including individuals, families, couples, and groups, to address a wide range of mental health challenges.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards to ensure continuity of care and proper treatment tracking.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including workshops and training sessions, to stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a broad spectrum of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families grappling with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance misuse, and relationship challenges. As an LPC at Journey Behavioral and Skills, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in helping these individuals navigate their mental health journeys and achieve sustainable wellness.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Current and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of professional counseling experience, ideally within a clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards governing mental health practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a varied client base.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team environment.
• Experience and proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software and related technologies.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in family therapy, substance misuse counseling, trauma-informed care, or couples therapy is highly desirable.
