Job description

Southwest Value Partners (SWVP), a privately held real estate investment company, is seeking a fall intern to support the Event Services team at Nashville Yards. SWVP invests in institutional quality real estate in growth markets throughout the United States. SWVP has a disciplined and high energy approach to asset acquisition, operating execution, value creation, asset disposition, and development.

The Event Services Intern will support the planning and execution of a wide range of events across Nashville Yards, gaining hands-on experience in a growing, downtown campus-wide environment. This role provides exposure to event logistics, client communication, and cross-functional coordination while working closely with the Event Services team and other departments. The intern will assist with day-to-day event operations, contribute to small-scale event planning, and develop a foundational understanding of events, hospitality, and property management.

The environment at SWVP is fast-paced and dynamic, and the intern will need to work well both independently and in a group setting. The intern will report to the Director of Events Services.

This is an unpaid internship where candidates MUST be enrolled as a student in an academic institution with the ability to receive college credit for the completion of this internship.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Event Services team with planning and execution of events across the Nashville Yards campus.
  • Support day-of-event operations, including setup, vendor coordination, and on-site logistics.
  • Shadow event planning processes, gaining exposure to logistics, event documents, and client deliverables.
  • Participate in internal meetings and client calls to observe communication and event management practices.
  • Coordinate with property management, security, and other internal departments to support event needs.
  • Conduct research on vendors and event resources to support planning efforts.
  • With guidance from the Event Services team, plan and execute small conference room rental events.
  • Help maintain and update event calendars, timelines, and shared planning documents.
  • Support inventory management for event supplies.
  • Assist in documenting post-event feedback, standard operating procedures and best practices for events.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a student at an accredited college or university as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, with the ability to earn academic credit for time spent in an internship position.
  • Strong interest in event planning, hospitality, or property management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), familiarity with Canva is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends within the students designated credit hour requirement when necessary.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to changing event needs and priorities.
  • Be able to maintain confidential information.
  • Walking, bending, and carrying of items up to 20 pounds.

Location: Nashville, TN

Duration: Fall semester internship duration will be approximately September-December 2026

Schedule:

  • Preferred minimum of 20 hours per week, aligned with the student's designated credit hour requirement.
  • Hours are meeting and events driven and will vary as needed; availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Additional Information:

  • All internships are in person; no remote opportunities are available at this time.
  • Internships do not provide compensation, benefits, housing, or transportation.
  • Internships do not guarantee full-time positions with Southwest Value Partners upon completion.
  • As a condition of internship, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, which will at a minimum include a criminal background check.
