Department: Nutrition Therapy

Work Schedule: PRN, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)  

Shift: Days 

Pay: 29.54 - 44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Position Title: Clinical Dietitian- PRN (Solid Organ Transplant)

Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to join our Nutrition Therapy team to serve as a PRN dietitian to Solid Organ Transplant team that services all organs (liver, kidney, heart, and lung). This role is a mix of both inpatient and outpatient. An ideal candidate would have transplant experience in the acute care area with the desire to expand their skills into the other areas. Potential opportunity to cover general inpatient needs available as well to increase desired hours to work.   

As a Clinical Dietitian that practices nutrition therapy, this individual will provide coverage for the Transplant Nutrition team on their comp days and PTO days to cover both inpatient and the outpatients.  We prefer an RD who has experience with nutrition support and works well with the interprofessional health care team and can comfortably flex from the inpatient to outpatient setting.

Schedule:

Flex hours Monday-Friday, rotating weekend coverage once training completed

Responsibilities:
Assesses patient's nutritional status and needs, deriving nutrition diagnosis from assessment data.
Develops interventions and plan of care on best available evidence and best practices.
Assesses patient understanding and compliance with nutrition interventions and plan of care. Monitors patient progress; measures and evaluates patient outcomes.
Participates in and coordinates departmental initiatives relative to patient care. May conduct education programs for patients, physicians, nurses, and other health care team members/departments, and/or the public. Functions as a preceptor in support of the academic enterprise.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition or related field.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience in Clinical Nutrition.
