JOB SUMMARY

The Network Engineer – Cloud will be primarily engaged in architecting, designing, and implementing cloud-located IT solutions based on best practices and customer needs. The Engineer will assess customer requirements and design secure, scalable, and supportable cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions that align with business, technical, and security objectives.

The Engineer will be required to design, install, and configure cloud and hybrid environments to effectively integrate the customer’s on-premises network with the customer’s cloud environment, including servers, storage, identity services, security, and other networking devices. The Engineer will document, demonstrate, and transfer knowledge regarding the setup and operation of each individual solution delivered directly with the customer for future support needs. The Engineer will provide the customer with written documentation, including configurations, procedures, implementation details, and diagrams of the solution based on best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Architect, design, configure, test, and deploy cloud and hybrid network solutions.

Evaluate customer requirements and create scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure designs, including network topology, connectivity, identity, security, compute, storage, and migration considerations.

Design, configure, test, deploy, and monitor Identity Management and MFA solutions.

Develop and maintain technical solution documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, implementation plans, and support procedures.

Provide SME training and mentorship to peers as needed or requested.

Troubleshoot networking issues, routing, speed, and QoS issues.

Keep current with and provide input/evaluation on new technology.

Configure and support Entra ID/Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other common technologies as they relate to customer needs.

Resolve escalated issues/assigned tasks from NOC Level 2 technicians.

Create, maintain, review, and update technical documentation of cloud solutions.

Deliver network assessments and other consulting engagements as needed, including recommendations for cloud and hybrid infrastructure improvements.

Perform customer on-site visits to troubleshoot/repair networking equipment.

Build cloud infrastructure, including but not limited to Azure VMs, Azure VPNs, Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune.

Define and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience with advanced cloud technology is required.

Experience designing and architecting cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions is required.

Experience integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud environments, including secure network connectivity, identity, access management, and virtualized workloads, is strongly preferred.

Experience with networking including IP Addressing/Subnetting, VLANs, Port Aggregation, DNS, DHCP, RDP, LDAP, Palo Alto, and Cisco is required.

Experience with MFA, SSO, and federated identity technology desired.

Experience with SonicWall, Palo Alto, and UniFi networking equipment desired.

Experience with Cisco, Meraki, or HP networking equipment desired.

Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V desired.

Ability to support and troubleshoot server-based software issues with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and newer, Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Microsoft PowerShell, major anti-virus solutions, and enterprise-class backup solutions.

Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, and/or Proxmox desired.

Some knowledge of Linux server environments.

Knowledge of troubleshooting and resolving escalated end-user identity and MFA issues.

Ability to travel as needed.
