This full-time remote position focuses on delivering high-quality outpatient therapy to individuals and families specifically impacted by a cancer diagnosis. As a key member of our mental health care team, you will utilize your expertise to support patients through challenging times, ensuring they receive compassionate, effective, and evidence-based care.

About the Organization

Greater City Family Counseling is driven by a bold vision to redefine healthcare by providing outstanding and proactive mental health support. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of our patients, families, and communities through innovative approaches to care. We believe in fostering a healthy work environment where our values of compassion, excellence, leadership, and agility propel our growth and success. Our commitment to elevating care standards and reducing healthcare costs is reflected in our employee-focused initiatives that prioritize work/life balance and ongoing professional development.

Work Environment

In this remote role, you will work primarily from a climate-controlled home office setting, with daily interactions facilitated through digital platforms and occasional meetings with interdisciplinary teams. The role requires a proactive approach to communication and collaboration with various healthcare professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. We respect and encourage a balance between home and work commitments, allowing for a productive yet flexible working style.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients who present with mental health challenges related to a cancer diagnosis, utilizing the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) for accurate diagnosis.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that consider the unique needs, cultural backgrounds, and personal goals of patients.
  • Regularly monitoring and documenting patient progress, adjusting treatments as necessary to achieve optimal mental health outcomes.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed treatment records, reports, and clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational protocols.
  • Collaborating closely with patients and their families to establish comprehensive treatment goals and objectives, fostering an inclusive recovery environment.
  • Providing education, mentoring, and supervision to students, interns, and other mental health professionals, contributing to the development of the next generation of social workers.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving individuals and families navigating the emotional and psychological complexities of living with cancer. You will engage with a diverse client population, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet the specific needs of children, adolescents, and adults facing cancer-related issues.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • A current State license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based practices and the development of individualized treatment plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate trusting relationships with patients and their families.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for remote counseling sessions, record-keeping, and data analysis.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in working with oncology patients or a background in trauma-informed care will be highly regarded. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling practices is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide:

  • A welcoming and collaborative work environment with a focus on team well-being.
  • A generous signing bonus and uncapped earning potential through performance incentives.
  • A flexible schedule that allows for outpatient-only focus, eliminating night and weekend obligations.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401k plan with company match.
  • Paid parental leave, holidays, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Opportunities for collaboration with mid-level providers and support staff.
