What is a Weekend RBT?

A Weekend RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) is a certified paraprofessional who works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, typically on weekends. Their primary role is to implement behavior intervention plans and teach skills to individuals with autism or other developmental disorders. Weekend RBTs may work in clients' homes, clinics, or community settings, providing flexible support outside of traditional weekday hours.

What are some unique challenges and opportunities for growth in a Weekend RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) role?

As a Weekend RBT, you'll often work with clients and families who have limited weekday availability, which means effective communication and flexibility are key. While weekend shifts may involve fewer team members onsite, you'll still collaborate closely with supervising BCBA professionals and maintain regular documentation. This schedule can offer unique opportunities for hands-on experience, autonomy, and building strong client relationships, which are valuable for career advancement. Additionally, successful RBTs often find that weekend experience positions them well for future leadership or full-time roles within ABA organizations.
