From its 10 locations in Western and Northern Canada, Ketek is able to provide services and rental equipment to clients throughout the region's oil and gas, mining, construction, and municipal sectors.

Position Background:

The Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for completing regular maintenance and repair and complete the required paperwork on trucks, 5 tons, flat decks and scissor necks, air and electric brakes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Completing regular maintenance, repair and complete the required paperwork on trucks, 5 tons, flat decks and scissor necks, air and electric brakes.
  • Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and all other associated parts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair emissions systems, electrical systems, and lighting systems
  • Repair or replace chassis components such as springs, spring hangers, equalizers, complete slider assemblies, axles, sub frames, as well as parts associated to air ride suspension and air system components.
  • Repair or replace bumpers, bumper braces, mud flap brackets, dolly legs/dolly leg assemblies and any other components that may require removal via the means of welding or cutting with oxy-acetylene torch.
  • Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, lower and upper rails and associated parts
  • Clean own personal area during and at the end of each shift
  • Assist in performing any tasks outside those not listed in primary job functions
  • Two-way radio, cell booster installation experiences an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong diesel engine troubleshooting experience an asset
  • Knowledge of installation of accessories such as two-way radio's, cell boosters, etc.
  • Willing to work tight deadlines and occasional overtime
  • Experience performing CVIP inspections
