Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and a minimum of 1 year in acute care for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma, stroke-certified acute care hospital in Redding, CA.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting with a Level II Trauma designation and stroke certification
  • Physical Therapy unit within a broader Rehab department covering PT, OT, and Speech
  • Patient population includes cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, ICU, neuro, and med/surg cases; low-volume pediatrics ward also present
  • Travelers are not required to work the NICU or have NICU/pediatrics experience
  • 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00 AMโ€“5:30 PM), working every 3rd weekend (potentially every other weekend)
  • PT aides on staff 7 days a week for support
  • Charting is performed in Cerner
  • No floating required
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience required
  • Active CA PT license required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted โ€” license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
  • PT coverage is staffed 7 days a week; a team leader is available when the manager is not present
  • Manager is available on-site Monday through Friday
  • Orientation is 8 hours
  • Travelers are expected to participate in the holiday rotation alongside permanent staff across all modalities
  • Dress code requires a burgundy polo or button-down long-sleeve shirt (available through a hospital vendor) with solid dark pants; scrubs are not permitted
  • Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside agencies will be considered
  • Open to first-time travelers
