Job description

Ready to build a meaningful career? A prominent, mission-driven non-profit is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Property Manager for their affordable housing portfolio in the South County region.
In this role, you will assist with daily operations, help ensure compliance with LIHTC and Section 8 guidelines, and deliver excellent service to our diverse resident base.

Compensation:
  • $20.00 – $23.00 per hour.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:
  • Assist with leasing, conduct property tours, process applications, and help maintain high occupancy levels.
  • Help prepare and process tenant initial and interim recertifications under LIHTC, Section 8, and HUD guidelines.
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents, addressing inquiries and helping resolve community concerns.
  • Support rent collections, post payments, and help manage minor account delinquencies.
  • Process maintenance work orders and assist in preparing the property for agency inspections.
  • Maintain organized tenant files and update data in the property management system.
Qualifications of the Assistant Property Manager:
  • 1–2+ years of property management or strong residential administrative experience (affordable housing background is a plus).
  • Basic awareness of HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, or Fair Housing regulations is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, customer-first approach.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi, RealPage, or MRI is highly preferred.
