Job description

Job Title: Weekend Program Facilitator
Status: Seasonal
Salary: $50 - $75/Day
Reports to: School Year Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Program Facilitators are heavily involved in the day-to-day program delivery in all of our program modes by leading programs, driving innovation, supporting a culture of safety, and providing at-the-scene oversight of experiences for campers in all of our program modes including Summer Camp and School Year Programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Responsible for facilitating dynamic experiences in weekend and retreat program activities: Adventure, Maker amp; STEM, Arts amp; Crafts, Waterfront, Target Sports, Equestrian, and Nature.
  2. Models Camp Fitch Core Values of Servant Leadership, Growth Mindset, Teamwork.
  3. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all participants and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS RELATED TO SUMMER PROGRAMS:
  1. Lead and instruct classes, activities, and programs for retreat groups.
  2. Serve as ambassadors to all Camp Fitch programs through actively outreaching to potential and attending customers, staff, and volunteers.
  3. Model the stewardship of camp facilities through proactive improvements and the cleaning of program areas after use.
  4. Models Leadership and responsibility as a role model to other weekend staff and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma

  4. Attain required training within 90 days, CPR/AED, First Aid, New Staff Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens.
WORK ENVIRONMENT amp; PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The physical demands of the job, that include (but are not limited to) being on your feet and walking for long periods of time on uneven terrain in all weather conditions (hot sun, ice and snow, rain, wind), must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
