Position Summary:
ARCH-Minneapolis is looking for a motivated and skilled CNC Swiss Programmer to join our team! If you have 1+ years' experience in a Set Up CNC Swiss Programmer role (Citizen a plus!) this could be your next career. Looking for a team member to join on our day shift.
Operates and maintains CNC equipment. As a CNC programmer, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to troubleshoot any machine issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reads and interprets technical drawings and CAD model for programming
  • Uses CAM Software to program new and existing parts to optimize tool cutting path
  • Implements and maintains set up sheets for Manufacturing
  • Validates the NC code generated from the CNC program
  • Designs fixtures/work holding fixture for machining parts
  • Collaborates with Engineering, set-up techs, and Machinists on new product Introduction and continuous improvement activities
  • Troubleshoots and resolves programming and machining problems as they arise.
  • Assists Engineering/ Manufacturing / Quoting as needed

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one year's experience as a CNC programmer
  • A minimum of one year's experience programming using CAD/CAM software (preferably PartMaker)
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience setting up CNC machine tools (Citizen and Tsugami)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contractual requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret design blueprints
  • Extensive experience with computer modeling software
  • Understanding of the different tooling types, speeds, and feeds.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, continuous mental and visual attention is needed. The ability to stand for a shift, sit, talk and hear is frequently required. Lifting up to 40 pounds is required. Exposure to manufacturing areas where temperature may vary and personal protective equipment is required.
