Maintenance Technician


Key Responsibilities

Follows safe work practices as outlined by OSHA and Bleistahl at all times.

Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to established procedures and maintenance schedules. Identify and replace worn or defective parts, such as belts, bearings, motors, and sensors, before they cause equipment failures or breakdowns. Perform predictive maintenance tasks, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, to detect potential equipment failures and address them proactively.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, alarms or abnormal operating conditions to minimize production disruptions. Analyze equipment diagnostic reports, and maintenance records to identify root cause of recurring issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, and production personnel to resolve complex technical problems and optimize equipment performance.

Sets up various machines and work cells as specified by engineering, work orders and blueprints based on requests.

Installs special functional and structural parts in devises.

Maintains inventory of repair parts for routine repairs and suggests items that should be in stock.

Experience

Controls, robotics, drives, and PLC’s. Vision systems, and sensor use and application. Minimum of 3 years of industrial automation experience. At least 5 years of experience in machine to operation, maintenance, and repair.

Troubleshooting and modifying PLC’s and HMI’s. Ability to program is a plus. Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics. Experience in troubleshooting and programing robots. Ability to read, apply, and modify electrical prints. Familiarity with electrical codes and standards is a plus.

Mechanical abilities, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Machining (operate lathe, mill, surface grinder, etc.), Ability to read and apply mechanical prints.

Work Environment

Works primarily in a plant environment.

Exposed to any number of elements.

Required to stand for long periods of time and move about the facility.

Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 75 lbs.

Required to use safety glasses and hearing protection while performing specific tasks or while in specific areas of the plant.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s/associate degree in electrical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field a plus. Technical certifications in PLC programming, industrial automation, or Siemens systems are a plus. Experience and technical knowledge in manufacturing maintenance environment, preferably in the automotive industry. Experience with Siemens TIA portal for PLC, HMI, and SCADA programing. Experience in configuring industrial communications networks (profinet and Profibus) Ability to configure motion controls and drives. Basic hand and shop tool familiarity. Ability to read schematics, and work instructions. Journeyman card in electrical, machine repair, or similar field is a plus. Strong attention to detail. Availability to work any shift.
