Job description

We are supporting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM) MAPMO with a Technical Program Analyst role focused on application development, automation, and system modernization.

This role supports enterprise systems used by tens of thousands of users annually and centers on building and maintaining applications and automation workflows within the Microsoft Power Platform. Candidates may come from a Power Platform background or a traditional software development background, with the expectation that solutions will be delivered using Power Apps and Power Automate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Power Platform (Code Language: Power Fx) or computer science skills to design, launch, and sustain digital applications that gather, process, store, and showcase data.
  • Create, implement, and manage advanced automation workflow systems that extract, transform, and load data from outdated sources into modern databases like SQL while automating communication processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and engage clients to comprehend project requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Apply Power Platform or computer science skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues associated with digital Power Apps or Power Automate systems and their functionality within the DHS CBP environment.

Clearance:

  • CBP/ICE Public Trust with suitability or DOD Top Secret. For this role we can only accept candidates with active clearances as mentioned.

Requirements

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain digital applications using Power Apps to collect, process, store, and display data.
  • Build and maintain automation workflows using Power Automate to support system modernization and automated communications.
  • Support data movement and modernization efforts, including ETL workflows transitioning legacy data sources to modernized databases (e.g., SQL).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Power Apps and Power Automate within a DHS CBP environment.
  • Create clear functional and technical documentation to support ongoing operations.
  • Background in application development or computer science.
  • Hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Fx) is preferred,
    or a strong background in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python) with the expectation of delivering solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience with Power Automate or ETL technologies.
  • Ability to work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate technical solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to meet CBP/ICE Public Trust or DoD Top Secret clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work on-site in the Washington, D.C. area as mission needs evolve.
Preferred
  • Experience with ETL technologies.
  • Experience working with SQL.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).
