Job Summary:
Allina Health is seeking a Perinatal Therapist to join a specialized outpatient behavioral health program at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. This role supports patients across the reproductive and perinatal continuum, including infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, reproductive mental health, and maternal mental health concerns.
This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed psychologist or LICSW with experience in perinatal mental health seeking to practice in a collaborative, specialty-focused environment. The therapist will provide individual therapy and facilitate group therapy as part of an integrated care model that includes access to on-site perinatal psychiatry.
Ideal candidates will bring experience working with perinatal patients and may have completed or be pursuing training through Postpartum Support International, including PSI training or certification.
Key Position Details:
This position is part of a specialty perinatal behavioral health track in an outpatient clinic setting at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. The therapist will work with patients and couples from infertility through postpartum, providing evidence-informed mental health care in partnership with a multidisciplinary team.
Practice Setting
  • Outpatient perinatal behavioral health practice

Schedule and Work Structure
  • Full-time position, ideally 1.0 FTE
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • Typical hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Job Description:
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide individual therapy to perinatal patients in an outpatient setting
  • Support patients experiencing infertility-related concerns, pregnancy-related mental health needs, postpartum adjustment, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and maternal mental health concerns
  • Participate in group therapy facilitation on a rotating basis
  • Current group therapy facilitation is estimated at approximately once every five months
  • Collaborate with psychology leadership to determine appropriate appointment length and clinical template structure
  • Appointment lengths may range from 45 to 60 minutes, based on patient needs and template design

Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology or Counseling required OR
  • Master's degree in Social Work
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 180 days
  • Formal Training/Certification in a suicide prevention modality as applicable based on role within 90 days required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing therapy in reproductive, maternal, postpartum, or perinatal mental health
  • Experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
  • Training, certification, or coursework through Postpartum Support International is highly desirable
  • Strong interest in specialty outpatient therapy for patients across the reproductive and perinatal continuum
  • Ability to work collaboratively with behavioral health, psychiatry, and clinic-based teams

Licenses/Certifications
  • Licensed Psychologist - MN Board of Psychology required upon hire OR
  • Licensed Ind Clinical Social Worker - MN Board of Social Work required upon hire
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 180 Days
  • Formal Training/Certification in a suicide prevention modality as applicable based on role within 90 Days required

Pay Range
Pay Range: $125,000 to $140,000 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
