A leading automotive manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician / PLC Programmer to join their Maintenance & Facilities team.

Electrician/PLC must come out of Heavy Manufacturing or Automotive
programmer - nights 11pm - 7am. Electricians must have plc programming
experience $36-$40 plus shift premium

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, industrial equipment, automation systems, and facility components to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

This role is ideal for a hands-on electrical professional with strong PLC programming experience, automation knowledge, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical components, wiring, and equipment throughout manufacturing operations
  • Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and automation systems
  • Install power supply wiring, conduit, programmable controllers, relay logic, robotics, and production equipment connections
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving transformers, motors, lighting systems, sensors, relays, switches, and control components
  • Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs to support equipment performance and reliability
  • Create, manipulate, and maintain robot programs for ABB, Fanuc, and Panasonic systems
  • Diagnose and repair electronic components including control boards and electrical systems
  • Support machine installations, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components when required
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on presses and production equipment
  • Support apprentices by providing technical guidance and hands-on training
  • Communicate equipment issues, repairs, and recommendations to supervisors and management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Industrial Trade Certification as an Industrial Electrician and/or PLC certification
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working with industrial automation and control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and modify robot programs (ABB, Fanuc, Panasonic)
  • Experience with electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier environments
  • Robot programming certifications (ABB, Fanuc, Panasonic)
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial robots
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with LabVIEW
  • Overhead crane certification
  • Forklift certification
  • Welding experience (MIG, Stick, TIG)
