Job Description

This position is tasked with the efficient, safe, and environmentally correct operation and growth of the Sika Lyndhurst, NJ facility.  The incumbent is expected to develop and implement new programs to achieve higher quality and productivity and be the Corporation's representative to direct and achieve our Vision in the Manufacturing Plant by cultivating an environment of confidence and trust.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attain annual safety goals through a solid understanding of safety management as well as the ability to convey and enforce safety rules and procedures throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • To attain annual quality and delivery goals, this position must be familiar with the product quality demands of manufacturers.  Problem-solving, error-proofing and mentoring skills are required.  The incumbent must have the ability to map processes and identify non-value-added activities to streamline production activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to team up with the engineering, maintenance, and quality functions including participating in capital planning, preventative maintenance, and problem solving.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement concepts including statistical process control and lean manufacturing is also required.  In addition, the incumbent must have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering with conceptual understanding of chemical and/or electrical engineering.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the organization including educating them on the importance of continuous improvement as a key element of manufacturing.
  • Attain annual expense budget goals and execute annual capital budget to achieve promised benefits.
  • Select, train and develop professional staff to perform at their own personal best.
  • Train and develop plant associates to ensure uninterrupted supply of necessary skills to operate equipment to meet customer order demand.
  • Motivate assigned professional and plant personnel to perform at required levels to attain annual goals through solid management and coaching skills.

Salary Range: $150,000-$165,000 based on education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. 

Qualifications

•Must be a well-educated manufacturing leader who can push forward the necessary strategies and programs to increase quality, productivity and customer service.

•This person must possess excellent communication skills, which are characterized by sincerity, persuasiveness and clarity of thought. 

•Incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills reflecting leadership, sensitivity and the demonstrated desire and ability to foster teamwork focusing on positive cooperative communication.

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or related field preferred.

•Minimum of 10 years Manufacturing Management experience.

•Experience managing union production personnel

•Strong leader who manages fairly and consistently when applying rules, policies, and procedures

•Brings a positive attitude to the organization

•Humility - Leads from a strong position yet checks their ego at the door and nurtures a culture of listening and respect for all.
