Job description

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman Commercial & Industrial to lead commercial plumbing installation projects while supervising field crews and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires extensive knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary waste, vent systems, underground piping, and copper piping installation.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can read construction drawings, perform layouts, coordinate manpower, and oversee plumbing installations from project startup through completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial and industrial plumbing installation projects from start to finish.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor plumbing crews while coordinating daily job site activities.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Perform plumbing system layouts and coordinate installation sequencing.
  • Install and oversee installation of domestic hot and cold water systems, sanitary waste systems, vent piping, and underground piping.
  • Perform and supervise copper pipe soldering and brazing.
  • Install no-hub, PVC, cast iron, copper, and related commercial piping systems.
  • Coordinate manpower to maximize productivity and maintain project schedules.
  • Perform material take-offs and assist with planning material requirements.
  • Ensure installations meet applicable plumbing codes, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accountability for company equipment, tools, and other assets assigned to the job site.
  • Purchase materials from local suppliers in accordance with company procedures when required.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate project progress to management.
  • Promote and enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and other trades to ensure successful project completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a four-year plumbing apprenticeship program.
  • Journeyman Plumber License required (or equivalent state licensing as applicable).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial plumbing foreman or lead plumber overseeing commercial plumbing installation projects.
  • Extensive experience installing commercial plumbing systems.
  • Experience with no-hub, PVC, cast iron, copper, and underground piping installations.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, including:
    • Domestic hot and cold water systems
    • Sanitary waste and vent systems
    • Underground plumbing systems
    • Copper piping, soldering, and brazing
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Experience performing plumbing layouts and material take-offs.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and crew management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities.
  • Knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and installation methods.
  • Experience installing commercial restroom fixtures and plumbing equipment.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate solutions, and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently while leading multiple team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master Plumber License.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience managing large commercial or industrial plumbing construction projects.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades.
  • Familiarity with project management software and digital construction documentation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and active construction environments.
  • Ability to safely operate plumbing tools, power tools, and job site equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent travel between multiple commercial and industrial job sites may be required.
