Overview

The Manager, Enterprise & Product Engineering is responsible for leading the design, development, delivery, and modernization of enterprise applications, APIs, digital products, automation platforms, and AI-enabled business solutions that leverage the organization's enterprise data assets. Operating within a data-first, AI-first technology strategy, this role is accountable for transforming governed enterprise data into scalable applications, intelligent workflows, digital experiences, automation capabilities, and AI-powered solutions that drive operational efficiency, customer outcomes, and business growth. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for managing Software Developers, Senior Software Developers, and Senior Software Engineers while actively participating in solution architecture, application modernization, API strategy, AI integration, intelligent automation, and software engineering governance activities.

The Manager, Enterprise & Product Engineering partners closely with Data Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Security, Analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions that consume enterprise data products, machine learning capabilities, analytics platforms, and artificial intelligence services. This role serves as both a people leader and practicing technologist, responsible for engineering execution, product delivery, architecture standards, AI adoption, application modernization, and continuous innovation across the enterprise technology portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Enterprise & Product Engineering organization, providing technical, operational, and people leadership across enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, digital products, automation platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Establish engineering strategy, technical roadmaps, modernization plans, and delivery priorities aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Serve as the primary technology leader for application architecture, software engineering practices, platform modernization, API strategy, and product engineering initiatives.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, performance management, career development, workforce planning, succession planning, and recruiting for Software Developers, Senior Software Developers, and Senior Software Engineers.
  • Lead architecture reviews and technical design sessions for enterprise applications, cloud-native solutions, APIs, integrations, automation platforms, data-driven applications, and AI-enabled business capabilities.
  • Establish engineering standards for software architecture, secure development practices, code quality, testing, observability, reliability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
  • Drive modernization of legacy applications and platforms toward cloud-native, API-first, event-driven, and microservices-based architectures.
  • Partner with Data Engineering leadership to operationalize enterprise data products, analytics platforms, machine learning capabilities, intelligent automation solutions, and AI services within business applications.
  • Collaborate with Cloud and Platform Engineering leadership to ensure applications align with enterprise standards for scalability, security, resiliency, observability, disaster recovery, and operational support.
  • Govern software development lifecycle (SDLC), secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), DevSecOps practices, release management, architecture review processes, and engineering quality standards.
  • Lead technical due diligence, vendor evaluations, platform selection efforts, proof-of-concept initiatives, and technology investment recommendations.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex application, architecture, integration, performance, security, and reliability issues affecting enterprise systems.
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure automation, API governance, platform engineering, AI-assisted development, and cloud-native application development.
  • Establish engineering metrics, KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance standards to improve software quality, delivery velocity, platform stability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead technical planning and execution for strategic initiatives involving enterprise applications, digital products, workflow automation, intelligent automation, artificial intelligence, and business process modernization.
  • Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, operations teams, and executive leadership to prioritize technology investments and align engineering resources with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, cybersecurity standards, privacy requirements, and enterprise governance policies.
  • Participate in enterprise technology strategy, architecture governance, innovation planning, and long‑range roadmap development.
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance, people and culture, and learning programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Technology or equivalent work experience in Cloud Operations or Enterprise Architecture required.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, solution architecture, application development, or enterprise technology roles required.
    • 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams, product engineering teams, or enterprise application development organizations required.
    • Demonstrated experience leading multiple software delivery teams and managing senior technical professionals required.
    • Expertise designing and delivering enterprise applications utilizing .NET, C#, React, APIs, microservices, cloud‑native architectures, and modern software engineering practices required.
    • Experience establishing software engineering standards, architecture governance processes, secure development practices, and enterprise development frameworks required.
    • Experience leading application modernization initiatives involving cloud transformation, API enablement, legacy platform modernization, and digital product development required.
    • Experience partnering with Data Engineering, Analytics, AI, DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams to deliver enterprise technology solutions required.
    • Experience implementing DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, reliability engineering, and operational excellence practices preferred.
    • Experience supporting AI-enabled applications, intelligent automation, machine learning integrations, workflow orchestration, or modern data‑driven software platforms preferred.
    • Experience working within regulated healthcare, PBM, HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, or similar compliance environments preferred.
    • Proven ability to influence senior leadership, drive organizational change, and lead large‑scale technology transformation initiatives required.
    • Leadership of a multi‑disciplinary team is required.
