Job description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Dialysis is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis in an outpatient setting. This role includes patient education and training, clinical assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The nurse must have a minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience, including at least two years in peritoneal dialysis, and be capable of floating within scope to meet facility needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Educate and train patients on peritoneal dialysis procedures and care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Float to other facility areas as required to support operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner charting system.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and weekend work schedules as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time clinical nursing experience.
  • At least 2 years current experience in peritoneal dialysis in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience in patient education and training specific to peritoneal dialysis within the last 3 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work within a 75-mile radius of the facility.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Local candidates preferred for proximity and flexibility.
  • Experience with Level 1 Trauma Center protocols.
Special Considerations:
  • Expected to take a 12-hour on-call shift every other Sunday.
  • Required to take a 3-hour on-call shift following regular shifts approximately twice weekly.
  • Work every other weekend, scheduled to work Saturday and be on call Sunday.
  • Return to Office (RTO) limited to 5 days maximum with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on holidays, the day before or after holidays, or on weekends.
  • Mandatory float to other facility areas as directed by management.
  • Scrub color is flexible; not provided by facility.
  • Parking fees apply at certain locations; shuttle service available between sites.
Scheduling:
  • Work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts from 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
  • No block scheduling; shifts assigned as per facility requirements.
  • On-call shifts integrated into weekly schedule as specified.
