Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Renal/Telemetry unit position requiring peritoneal dialysis experience and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.

Details
  • 18-bed Renal Medicine unit located on the 4th floor of a main hospital campus in Asheville, NC
  • Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • 13-week travel contract
  • Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 for RNs; CNA ratios range from 1:9 to 1:18
  • Night shift staffing includes 1 Charge RN, 4 floor nurses, and 1 HUC/CNA
  • Equipment includes mobilization and lift equipment, peritoneal dialysis cyclers, and scales
  • EMR: Cerner (experience preferred)
  • May float to like units or serve as a sitter if needed
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required
Requirements
  • Active RN license — NC or Compact license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent renal/telemetry RN experience
  • Peritoneal dialysis experience required
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
  • One professional reference required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
  • Provides renal nursing care including peritoneal dialysis management for patients on a dedicated renal medicine unit
  • BSN preferred
  • Certified peritoneal dialysis nurse designation preferred
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • RN scrub color: navy blue
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
  • Ideal candidate is flexible, compassionate, comfortable with change, and consistently punctual
