COMPONENT ENGINEER - Electronics and PCB
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction, using standard design concepts. You will review and implement engineering solutions, manufacturing processes, and test procedures to ensure components are built in accordance to specifications. You will also showcase your expertise by contributing to design reviews and design verification.
You will be mainly accountable for:
โข Managing the complete lifecycle of PCB and electronic components in collaboration with Product Engineers
โข Evaluating new PCB parts and ensuring that these are built to specification and quality standards
โข Interacting with contract manufacturers and EMS to resolve manufacturing issues
โข Participating in PCB layout reviews and suggest quality improvements
โข Working on new product introduction (NPI), quality, and change projects
โข Analyzing electronic components using advanced tools for obsolescence and risk mitigation
โข Collaborating with design engineers on prototype builds and functional, EMI, and reliability testing
โข Coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve component and production issues.
Qualifications for the role:
โข Bachelor degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related
โข Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and working with SMD and THD components, PCB layout, and Gerber files.
โข Experience in PCBA Testing procedures - Optical (AOI, AXI), Electrical and Functional (ICT, FCT, JTAG), Solderability, Contamination, etc.
โข Knowledge of PCB guidelines for component placement and IPC/CE standards, a plus
โข Experience with multilayer stack-up boards
โข Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, SAP, (PTC Windchill, a plus)
โข Experience in CAD/SolidWorks, a plus
โข Strong multitasking and organizational skills; must be goals oriented, analytic, and methodical
