Job description

Description
Job Duties:
  • Perform high-quality X-ray examinations based on physician orders and clinical protocols.
  • Assist in positioning patients for MRI and/or CT exams following training and protocol.
  • Start IVs and administer contrast material as required for imaging procedures.
  • Screen patients for contraindications to imaging procedures and document findings.
  • Support remote technologists through ROCC by assisting with onsite tasks and patient coordination.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and enter clinical notes into the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Work collaboratively with technologists, radiologists, and support staff to ensure smooth clinical operations.
  • Provide compassionate, efficient, and professional care to all patients.
  • Assist with workflow and operational support in the imaging center as needed.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography - Required
  • State radiologic technologist license (as applicable) - Required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - Required
  • 1-2 years of experience in radiography in an outpatient, clinical, or hospital setting - Preferred
  • Documented experience in venipuncture and IV contrast administration - Required
  • Exposure to or training in CT or MRI is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong working knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, positioning, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency in starting IVs and handling contrast media according to protocol.
  • Familiarity with imaging software systems such as PACS, RIS, and EMR platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy outpatient environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Adaptable and able to support remote and hybrid imaging operations (e.g., ROCC).
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
