Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring charge experience and an active NY RN license in hand.

Details
  • Work in a high-volume Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY
  • Complex care unit serving Medicine, orthopedic overflow, and complex long-term patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 (typically 1:6)
  • On-unit telemetry monitoring required
  • 13-week contract with possibility of extension
  • 4x12-hour shifts with day/night rotation (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required
  • Epic EMR used; experience required
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Requirements
  • Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; valid NIHSS cert must be submitted for consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele RN experience
  • Charge nurse experience required
  • Experience with a 1:5–1:7 patient ratio
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
Additional Information
  • Skills required include: telemetry monitoring, Rapid Response/Code team participation, temporary and permanent pacemaker management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, phlebotomy, peripheral IV insertion, heparin protocols, ortho trauma and total joint replacement care, surgical drain management, HFNC, oxygen delivery devices, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
  • Scrub colors: navy bottoms with navy or white tops
