Job description

Position: SECURITY SPECIALIST - ARMED

Department:  CAMPUS POLICE 
Status:  FULL TIME / 80 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD
Shift Hours: 12 HOURS SHIFTS TO INCLUDE DAY OR NIGHTS SHIFT, ALSO WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS 
Facility:  MIAMI VALLEY HOSPITAL SOUTH

Security officer means any persons whose primary duties are to protect persons or property. Security officers means non-commissioned. Security Officers are not authorized to exercise police officer powers. Responsible for investigation of criminal offenses that occur on facility property. Enforce facility rules and regulations.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Preferred educational qualifications: Associates Degree

Licensure/Certification/Registration

OPOTA- Required Basic Security Guard Training. Including the state required 20 hours of firearms Training

Valid Ohio driver's license required

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

Knowledge/Skills

Computer skills desirable

This position requires an individual able to work under pressure with many interruptions while remaining calm and pleasant to the public and facility personnel.
