Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee all extraction, processing, and logistics operations while maintaining full adherence to safety, environmental, and quality protocols and mandates.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to enhance quality, minimize waste, reduce expenditure, and boost overall operational output and efficiency.
  • Manage and guide team activities to reach target production levels in line with both immediate and future quality and output goals.
  • Propose updates to operational standards, workflows, and equipment to maximize performance, efficiency, and financial returns.
  • Support the Plant Manager with the generation of operational reports, IFS data management, and monthly financial variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to organize and facilitate the site's Annual Operational Excellence summit and regular plant review meetings.
  • Manage the planning and delivery of capital projects and technical modifications to fulfill site requirements and support long-term asset integrity.
  • Keep the Plant Manager informed regarding existing or emerging risks related to personnel, machinery, quality, safety, and supply chain logistics.
  • Foster positive employee relations and coordinate the recruitment process for hourly staff.
  • Review operational and maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness to proactively address potential issues.
  • Direct all plant operations as the acting lead during the Plant Manager's absence.
  • Execute additional operational requirements as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is highly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in heavy industry is mandatory, with a strong preference for backgrounds in mining or mineral processing.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a direct supervisory role is required.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written professional communication.
