About the Role

My client is seeking an experienced Dairy Farm Operations Manager to lead herd health, milk production, daily farm operations, and farm staff. This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing a 130+ head Holstein herd while driving animal welfare, milk quality, operational efficiency, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee herd health, reproduction, nutrition, milk production, and animal welfare
  • Partner with veterinarians and nutritionists to optimize herd performance
  • Monitor herd health and production metrics and implement continuous improvements
  • Oversee daily farm operations, facilities, equipment, inventory, and safety
  • Lead, coach, and develop farm staff while managing staffing and scheduling
  • Ensure compliance with agricultural, environmental, animal welfare, and safety standards
  • Support long-term operational strategy and business performance
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience leading a commercial dairy operation, herd, or production team
  • Strong knowledge of herd health, reproduction, nutrition, and milk production
  • Proven experience leading and developing employees
  • Experience with herd management and production tracking systems
  • Ability to operate tractors, skid steers, and other farm equipment
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Dairy Management, or related field preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and a flexible 365-day schedule
