Join Our Team as an AWS Operations Manager at ARRO Water Services!

The AWS Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of assigned water and wastewater treatment facilities while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting operational excellence across multiple sites.

This position reports to the Regional Operations Manager.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, distribution, and collection systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all client contract requirements and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Lead, supervise, and support operations staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, emergency response efforts, and operational improvements.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, preventive maintenance programs, and corrective action plans.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, prepare board reports, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with engineering, compliance, and administrative teams on system upgrades and long-term planning.
  • Manage operating budgets, review invoices, and oversee purchasing of chemicals and supplies.
  • Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and values of the organization.
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in water/wastewater operations.
  • Minimum 2โ€“3 years of supervisory or management experience required.
  • Valid PA Driverโ€™s License, Class C.
  • Advanced knowledge of water/wastewater treatment operations, safety standards, DEP regulations, and NPDES permit requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with computer-operated control systems and operational software.
Physical Requirements โ€“ Work Environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, and move throughout facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25โ€“50 pounds as needed.
  • Subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including noise, chemicals, weather extremes, and wastewater-related hazards.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respond to emergency situations, including after-hours callouts.
