The Wilderness Resort is seeking hardworking, dependable, enthusiastic, customer service driven individuals to join our fast-paced team! Employees have access to great benefits, amenity usage, and so much more!

The Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, setup, and operational efficiency of all conference and meeting spaces throughout Wilderness. This role oversees the preparation and breakdown of event spaces, assists with technical and maintenance needs, supervises the setup team, and ensures the highest standards of guest service and professionalism are met. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail orientated, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest focused environment.

This is a full-time position with day, night, and weekend availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Event Set-Up & Facility Operations

  • Set up and tear down all meeting rooms across the property, including the Conference Center, Clubhouse, and outdoor areas.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance such as power washing, minor painting, and facility upkeep.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of conference center spaces, including meeting rooms, public areas, and storage areas.
  • Manage snow and garbage removal from all key areas including walkways, parking lots, docks, and entrances.
  • Conduct monthly A/V equipment inventory and ensure proper functionality of all technical systems (A/V, lighting, HVAC, music).

Guest Service & Event Execution

  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accurate event setups and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with Event Detailers and Catering Managers on last-minute changes and guest needs.
  • Deliver A/V equipment and food & beverage items to appropriate event locations.
  • Ensure all health and safety policies are followed, including food and beverage compliance.
  • Attend all VIP and special events as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and courteously.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Assist in training, scheduling, and directing set-up staff; assume leadership in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
  • Delegate assignments, monitor performance, and provide clear communication to staff.
  • Motivate and support conference and sales team members in achieving event goals.
  • Communicate changes to schedules, events, or staffing promptly and professionally.

Professionalism & Compliance

  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and adhere to all resort and department policies.
  • Ensure staff appearance and uniforms comply with company guidelines.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Attend all safety meetings and report updates to the Facilities Manager.
  • Follow all emergency and operational procedures; assist in training team members on safety protocols.

Additional Duties

  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or resort leadership.
