Key Responsibilities of the RN - ER/ED - Emergency Room/Emergency Department
  • Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
Requirements of the RN - ER/ED - Emergency Room/Emergency Department
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
  • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (AHA only)
  • RN License in the state of TX or compact
  • Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
  • Participation in a residency program or specific orientation for newly licensed RNs
  • Completion of annual competency verification requirements
