Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable EHS Coordinator. The EHS Coordinator is responsible for implementing and monitoring EHS programs across multiple roadway striping and traffic control projects.  This role ensures crews are properly trained, work zones meet MUTCD requirements, and compliance records are maintained.  The EHS Coordinator bridges the gap between field operations and management, focusing on consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement in EHS practices.  The EHS Coordinator will work closely with various teams to build a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all relevant regulations.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

Coordinate company-wide traffic control safety programs, including flagger training, night work safety, and vehicle / equipment movement protocols.

Gather and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for paints, solvents, and striping materials; ensure crews are trained in chemical hazard communication and awareness.

Conduct facility, work zone, and jobsite audits / inspections.

Maintain comprehensive records of crew certifications (flaggers, traffic control technicians, traffic control supervisors, and equipment operators)

Track safety performance data such as incident rates, work zone intrusion events, and near miss reports; prepare dashboards for management review.

Schedule and lead weekly safety meetings focusing on hazards specific to striping operations (live traffic exposure, paint truck operations, night shifts, etc.)

Audit traffic control setups for compliance with site-specific traffic management plans and MUTCD standards.

Verify that subcontractors comply with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Work with project managers to identify high-risk activities and recommend preventative measures.

Assist with environmental compliance, including paint waste disposal, spill containment, and stormwater protection.

Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Field Specific Responsibilities

Visit and walk the jobsites on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support.

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly EHS Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.

Perform field safety observations during each visit.

Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.

Conduct critical behavior-based safety observations as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Region EHS Director.

Oversight and Implementation of Day-to-Day field operations.

Work with the facility leadership and field teams to ensure work practices are understood and followed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

4-6 years of work experience in the EHS Field.

Relevant certifications in EHS or Safety Management are highly desirable.

Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies for incident investigations.
