This is more than a technical operations roleโ€”we are seeking a hands-on leader who can drive performance, develop people, and play a key role in ensuring the reliability of a best-in-class fiber network. This individual will have the opportunity to shape processes, influence operational strategy, and grow into broader leadership responsibilities over time.

If you are motivated by leading teams, solving complex challenges, and advancing your career, this opportunity offers both immediate impact and long-term growth.

About WCTA

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a technical leader who wants more than just reactive operations. You will oversee the performance and reliability of WCTAโ€™s fiber network while leading a critical team responsible for monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement. Youโ€™ll work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and drive operational excellence. This position offers clear visibility, influence, and a path for career advancement into broader operational or executive leadership roles.

Oversee network monitoring systems, alarms, and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues quickly

Establish and improve incident management and escalation processes

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers, technicians, and NOC analysts

Manage scheduling and staffing to support a 24/7 operational environment

Set performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and support ongoing training and development

Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

Develop and implement operational procedures, standards, and best practices

Partner with engineering, field operations, and customer support teams to ensure seamless service delivery

Provide technical leadership during major incidents and escalations

Coordinate maintenance windows and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Vendor & Resource Management

Manage relationships with equipment vendors, service providers, and third-party partners

Oversee departmental budget planning and execution

Ensure resources are aligned to meet operational and strategic objectives

What Weโ€™re Looking For

Weโ€™re seeking a technical professional with leadership capability or strong leadership potential who wants to make an impact and grow.

Ideal Background May Include:

Experience in telecom, broadband, networking, or infrastructure environments

Prior experience in a NOC, network operations, or technical support leadership role

Hands-on knowledge of IP networking, fiber infrastructure, and monitoring tools

Experience working in 24/7 operations environments
