Job description

Residence Inn Chapel Hill is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Chief Maintenance Engineer to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure safety and functionality of all systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct, supervise, and train the Engineering Department Staff
Develop, execute and oversee preventative maintenance programs for all buildings systems, guest rooms, public areas, landscapes, and back-of-the-house spaces.
Manage and perform repairs and of hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool and mechanical operations.
Communicate effectively with the General Manager, corporate leaders and department supervisors regarding property conditions, needs and safety concerns.
Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance issues to minimize service interruptions.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors and inspectors for repairs, projects and compliance audits.
Maintain accurate records for maintenance, work orders, inspections and compliance documentation.
Requirements
Prior experience in hotel engineering or maintenance leadership role required
Sound knowledge of building systems including fire protection and life safety
Proven ability to lead, mentor and train maintenance staff
Effective communication, problem solving and organization skills required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays and manage emergency response situations
Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
