Job description

STARTING PAY (HOURLY RATES)
Lead Security Officer: $28.84
Security Officer: $25.75
Our Security team embodies the core values of the JCCSF and is the first point of contact for our members, guests and staff. Security Officers are responsible for all security staff posts, crisis response support, emergency evacuation, security monitoring, crowd management, and observation. Security Officers work in a fun and friendly atmosphere with support from an extraordinary team.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Lead Security Officer
The Security Lead offers guidance and instruction to Security Officers and provides skilled leadership within the Security team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Carry out duties of security posts and patrols throughout the facility
  • Proactively solve problems as they arise
  • Give professional directions during security incidents and serve as point person during emergencies
  • Assist with daily evaluations, quality checks and personnel issues of the Security Team
  • Provide guidance and instruction to Security Officers in their daily tasks. Ensure that procedures are followed
  • Document incidents in written reports
  • Serve as special event crowd control, screening and observation.
  • Perform opening and closing building and grounds security inspections
  • Intervene, de-escalate, and respond appropriately to on-site conflicts and disruptions
  • Complete daily checklists and audits
  • Maintain emergency supply inventory
  • Complete with security policies and procedures
  • Provide support in the event of crisis, emergency evacuation, or breach.
  • Perform risk assessments and provide data to Security Operations Manager
  • Participate in ongoing training related to security procedures and dynamics including CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Provide customer service support for JCCSF members
  • Perform other security related duties as assigned

Security Officer
Security Officers are responsible for all security staff posts, crisis response support, emergency evacuation, security monitoring, crowd management, and observation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform security screenings at lobby and garage posts
  • Perform security patrols
  • Monitor security systems
  • Serve as special event security for crowd control, screening and observation
  • Perform opening and closing building and grounds security inspections
  • Approach and question as necessary disruptive or threatening individuals and take necessary action to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Comply with all safety and security policies and procedures
  • Provide support in the event of crisis, disaster, and emergency evacuations
  • Participate in ongoing training related to security and safety procedures
  • Possess the skills and abilities to provide basic first aid and CPR/AED as needed
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service at all times
  • Perform other security related duties as directed or assigned by the Security Operations Manager

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of security practices
  • Excellent observation skills
  • First Aid and CPR/AED certification; and ability to provide basic first aid and CPR/AED as needed
  • Ability to make good decisions under pressure
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and a good team player
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, and late evenings
  • Basic knowledge of security operations or inventory management is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a Security Officer
  • Knowledge of security practices
  • Excellent observation skills
  • Must have current BSIS Guard Card
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor post and patrol rotations are part of daily schedule, in all weather conditions. Consistent, ongoing contact with members of the public throughout all shifts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to stand for two hours at a time
  • Must be able to walk and climb stairs for extended periods of time
  • Must be physically able to respond quickly to an emergency
  • Must be able to physically perform CPR and give emergency medical care

STATUS:
Non-exempt positions; benefits eligibility based on regularly scheduled hours
HOURS AND BENEFITS:
Lead Security Officer
  • Full-time, benefited position

Security Officer - available positions include:
  • Full-time (40 hours per week), benefited position
  • Regularly scheduled part-time positions: Benefits included for positions over 20 hours/week
  • Part-time, as-needed positions: Varied scheduled and hours, non-benefited

HOURS/SCHEDULE:
Up to 40 hours per week with possible overtime. Schedule includes weekday and weekend shifts, early mornings and late evenings.
