About the role

Join us as our Senior Manager Medical Content, to support the development, maintenance, and execution of the medical content strategy across the GI portfolio.

You will interact with key internal stakeholders and liaise with vendors for activities related to assigned assets.

Please note that the role requires travelling to various professional meetings and conferences (limited overnight and potential international travel).

How You Will Contribute

Reporting to the Director, Medical Content for the assigned therapeutic area, you will play an active role in content generation for Scientific Training and Field Medical and other externally facing resources. You will be entitled to:

  • Help ensure training content is properly managed and housed in appropriate repositories and support the timely execution of key medical content tactics and activities.
  • Support the agile development, execution, and continuous refinement of external-facing medical content that is compliant and scientifically rigorous.
  • Support the design and development of scientific and disease/product content in alignment with Takeda's Business Rules and aligned processes.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content that accurately reflects scientific data and aligns with Medical objectives and strategy.
  • Regularly update content to incorporate advancements across Takeda's therapeutic areas and products.
  • Develop innovative training content channels to support different learner preferences.
  • Monitor learning outcomes through assessments and evaluations to ensure training effectiveness.
  • Utilize AI and digital-enabled approaches to improve efficiency and scalability of content development and training delivery.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align training with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain strong communication channels to meet evolving scientific training and medical content needs of stakeholders.
  • Support Medical Content strategies and tactics and contribute to strong cross-functional execution.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders-supporting objectives and influencing key decisions related to training programs.
  • Encourage solutions-oriented thinking by fostering a culture of personal accountability, empowerment, and curiosity across cross-functional teams.
  • Lead the strategic adoption of digital and AI-enabled solutions to drive innovation across platforms and strengthen alignment with cross-functional objectives.
  • Operate effectively in a global, highly matrixed ecosystem (internal and external) with a high degree of complexity.

What You Bring to Takeda

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MS, Ph.D., MD, or PharmD) in a biosciences discipline.
  • 3+ years of related experience at a pharmaceutical company or a medical communications agency.
  • 2+ years in medical affairs, including roles in a medical communication function.
  • Successful track record of developing scientific training programs or delivering technical/scientific content.
  • Experience with resource allocation and vendor and budget management
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in scientific data interpretation and the development of learning solutions.
  • Experience with Articulate software (e.g., RISE and 360) and Veeva Systems (e.g., Vault, Promomats).
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development and product life-cycle management.
  • Ability to develop strategic messaging and strong knowledge of pharmaceutical standards, compliance, and regulations
  • Strong experience writing scientific communication decks, reports, and materials for educational activities.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$151,100.00 - $237,490.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
