Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring a TN or compact RN license and prior medical-surgical nursing experience.

Details
  • Work on a 30-bed Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
  • Support staff includes Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretaries, PCTs, and Case Management
  • Uses standard equipment such as walkers, IV pumps, and SCDs
  • Documentation completed in Meditech
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Requires 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule
  • Holiday rotation coverage required
  • Floating required in rotation with other staff
Requirements
  • Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Medical-Surgical experience required, including care for respiratory, renal, and GI conditions
  • Experience with telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters, and heparin drips required
  • Strong teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills required
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical patients with a variety of conditions and comorbidities
  • Utilize communication boards to support patient experience initiatives
  • Navy blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
