Graymont is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to work with maintenance, operations and management personnel to provide a safe, cost-efficient program to properly maintain the company's equipment and facility assets. Hourly rate: $34.00
United States - WI - Green Bay
DESCRIPTION:
The Maintenance Mechanic will use best maintenance practices to maintain equipment reliability and efficiency at maximum levels. Duties are usually performed during day shift, but this position requires responsibility for a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week operation, and scheduled "on-call" status as required.
Callouts, overtime, Saturday, Sunday, holiday, and nightshift hours will be required as conditions demand. Day shift is not guaranteed, as rotating shifts are always a possibility in a continuous operating plant.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Perform routine, scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repairs to all plant equipment.
โ€ข Utilize manuals, blueprints, parts catalogs, vendors, technical experts, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to properly maintain equipment, and diagnose equipment malfunctions
โ€ข Perform timely, accurate record keeping in CMMS for inventory control, parts orders, and equipment files
โ€ข Perform routine equipment inspections & lubrication
โ€ข Fabrication of guards, base plates, chutes, etc
โ€ข Cutting (Oxy/acet and plasma) of mild and stainless steel
โ€ข Welding (stick & wire-feed) of mild and stainless steel
โ€ข Alignment of drives, bearings, motors, shafts, couplings, sprockets, and sheaves using precision alignment tools
โ€ข Safely remove & install equipment/components with proper rigging techniques using cranes, forklifts, hoists, properly rated rigging, & approved practices
โ€ข Maintenance to kiln drive systems, bowl mills, roll crushers, belt conveyors, screw conveyors, fans, feeders, airlocks, actuated gates, load-out spouts, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic blowers, bucket elevators, product screens, weigh belts, product scales, mobile equipment, HVAC, etc
โ€ข Complete understanding of the process, all plant equipment, associated controls & instrumentation, power systems, and ALL safe maintenance practices
โ€ข Primary goals of Maintenance personnel:
o Strict adherence to all safety & environmental rules
o Proper preventative maintenance & mechanical repairs to protect equipment
o Achieve minimal equipment downtime to produce stable process operation with maximum safe
o Perform refractory repairs
o Change bags, cages, and components in process dust collectors
o Carpentry & pipefitting skills
o Basic electrical knowledge to assist electricians
Qualifications:
โ€ข High school diploma and 5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
โ€ข Computer skills sufficient to operate CMMS, fill out maintenance work requests, and the ability to learn and understand the operation of plant control systems
โ€ข Able to access and work in ALL areas of plant which include heights up to 125' above ground level, and confined spaces
โ€ข Lifting, carrying, pushing or moving of 75 pounds minimum
โ€ข Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, and respond accordingly
โ€ข Knowledge of best-maintenance practices
โ€ข Ability to safely operate front-end loader, skid-steer loader, forklift, hoists, cranes
โ€ข Ability and willingness to be cross-trained in other job functions
โ€ข Strict adherence to safety policies
โ€ข Valid driver license
