ASPIRUS LAKE VIEW HOSPITAL in Two Harbors, MN is seeking a LV RN to join our OPERATING ROOMS team!
Salary Range: $41.89 - $64.78 Hourly
Schedule/Hours: DAY ONLY, 8 hours
Weekend Requirement: Generally No Weekends
FTE: PART TIME, 0.6 FTE or 48 Hours Biweekly

The Outpatient Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process and physical assessment skills in the perioperative care (pre-op, intra-op and post-op) of surgical and procedural patients and patients receiving infusion therapy when needed. Provides for education of patient, patient families and staff and evaluates outcomes. Performs follow up care as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: See Licensure/Certification/Registration requirement.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of recent acute care nursing experience or three (3) years perioperative experience such as: Surgical Technician or Surgical Assistant.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. ACLS certification within nine (9) months of hire. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross only if issued prior to March 1, 2015, or Military Training Network.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: BSN
  • Experience: ICU/PACU experience in the previous 3-5 years OR Monitoring/Sedation experience in the previous 3-5 years. Recent perianesthesia or critical care nursing experience preferred. Preference is given to individual with previous IV therapy experience, chemotherapy certification, and/or certification as an oncology nurse (OCN).
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: CNOR

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of current principles, techniques and legal limits of nursing practice; knowledge of anatomy and physiology and physical assessment. Knowledge of customer relations principles. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, personnel and Physicians and establish professional working relationships. Ability to function as a team leader, Primary Nurse and role model; ability to accept individual responsibility and accountability for decisions and outcome. Ability to work in stressful situations; to maintain accurate records, write reports, to participate in orientation of new personnel and teaching of students; to support Outpatient goals and objectives. Ability to perform basic computer keyboard operations; ability to print or write legibly, to hear, see, and speak English.
  • READING - Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
  • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures. SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment
