Material Handler

For a manufacturing client located in Woodridge, IL, we are seeking a Material Handler for a full-time, on-site temporary assignment. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and involves working within a production and assembly environment. The Material Handler will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by moving, organizing, and tracking materials and inventory in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to warehouse safety practices, and the ability to stand for the entire shift while performing varied physical and logistical tasks. The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, particularly in attendance, and will work closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available where and when needed.

Benefits

  • Temporary full-time assignment with a fixed hourly pay rate of 20.00 dollars per hour for all hours worked on site.

  • Varied job activities throughout the shift, including handling materials, supporting assembly operations, and collaborating with warehouse and production staff.

What You Will Do?

  • Handle and move materials throughout the manufacturing and assembly areas, ensuring that components and products are delivered to the correct workstations in a timely manner.

  • Monitor inventory levels on the production floor, assisting with inventory management activities such as counting, labeling, and organizing items to maintain accurate stock records.

  • Follow warehouse safety compliance procedures at all times, including proper lifting techniques, safe equipment use, and adherence to designated work areas and traffic routes.

  • Stand and remain active for the entire shift while performing repetitive material handling tasks, maintaining focus, accuracy, and attention to detail during all assigned duties.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors in manufacturing and assembly to support workflow, communicate material needs, and help resolve basic issues related to material availability.

  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas in warehouse and production spaces, arranging materials logically to reduce clutter and support safe and efficient operations.

Your Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in material handling within manufacturing or assembly environments, including moving, staging, and organizing materials to support production schedules.

  • Practical knowledge of inventory management processes, such as counting materials, updating simple records, and assisting in keeping accurate stock levels in work areas.

  • Understanding of warehouse safety compliance requirements, with the ability to consistently follow safety rules, procedures, and guidelines while performing physical tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately identify, label, and track materials and components, reducing errors in the production and assembly workflow.

  • Proven teamwork skills, including clear communication with coworkers and supervisors, willingness to assist others, and ability to contribute to a cooperative work environment.

  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality, with the ability to be present for the full shift schedule from Monday to Friday without unexcused absences.
