Location: Charleston, SC Salary: Depends on Experience Description: Our client is currently seeking a Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer!
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Liaison/Product Review Engineer to join our dynamic Liaison Engineering team. In this role, you will serve as a technical authority in resolving complex production issues, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, and driving continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing processes. You will be empowered with MRB (Material Review Board) authority to make critical design decisions that directly impact aircraft safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead root cause analysis and develop engineering dispositions for non-conforming parts and systems.
  • Apply deep knowledge of aerospace design and manufacturing to resolve production discrepancies across structures, systems, and installations.
  • Represent engineering on the MRB, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address build and design issues.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes to improve manufacturability and reduce recurring issues.
  • Audit and support MRB activities at domestic and international supplier sites.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and champion best practices in liaison engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and export control requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, with a focus on manufacturing or liaison engineering.
  • Current or prior MRB certification with signature authority.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, structures (metal and composite), and regulatory compliance.
  • U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in aerospace OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with FAA-approved type design revisions and production deviation management.
