GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Budget Analyst supports a variety of accounting functions related to budgeting, forecasting, accounting controls, financial statement preparation, and ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and correct classification of amounts recorded and reported.

The Budget Analyst is focused on rate data input, analysis, and reconciliations for forecasting, spending, and overhead rates. The Budget Analyst II is focused on forecasting and spending analysis, forecast model management, overhead rates preparation, and reporting. The Budget Analyst III is focused on management of forecasting models, overhead rate reporting, preparation of financial statements, and audit response.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Budget Analyst I:

  • Assists in updating data inputs for financial models related to the development of budgets, forecasts, and overhead rates.
  • Reconciles major overhead base values (direct labor costs and hours, direct materials, etc.).
  • Assists in monitoring actual to forecasted rates.
  • Analyzes department spending against plan and monitors the accuracy, timeliness, and correct classification of amounts recorded and reported.
  • Supports analysis, reviews, and audits to ensure that the established accounting policies and procedures are adhered to on an ongoing basis.
  • Assists in General Ledger accounting and prepares cost reconciliations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Budget Analyst I:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • 0-1 years managerial accounting experience.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial statements.
  • Good computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
  • May work extended hours or weekends.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 0-5% May be required between KUAS locations.
