MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Responsibilities

With moderate supervision provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Must have knowledge and ability to perform necessary troubleshooting & repairs to plant & house equipment.

· Currently seeking individuals with knowledge on Linkers, stuffers, choppers, mixers, conveyors, smokehouses, packaging machines, dock levelers & thermal forming packaging machines.

· Knowledge of electrical, plc, basic hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, welding on stainless & sanitary pipe.

· Currently seeking individuals with knowledge on Linkers, stuffers, choppers, grinders, or thermal forming packaging machines.

· Trouble shooting mechanical and electrical failures in order resolve issues with various facility equipment.

· Take part in helping Educates, develops, and motivates current & new maintenance employees.

· Monitor & maintain plant Utilities, low pressure steam boilers, wastewater & fire suppression system.

· Work with and assist outside contractors performing repairs or Scheduled PM.

· Performs preventative & corrective maintenance as indicated by maintenance supervisor using CMMS software Mpulse.

· Ability to perform weekend maintenance activities as needed.

· Support the production operation by providing immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime.

· Commitment to following safety policies and practices while upholding the company policies and ethical standard.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor and Maintenance Manager.

Job Requirements

· Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred, High School Diploma with sufficient experience will be considered.

· At least 5 years of maintenance background.

· Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, Mpulse is a plus.

· Strong mechanical/electrical experience with packaging & production equipment. Must be familiar with welding. Must understand the safe and proper usage of tools & shop equipment.

· Should have knowledge and experience of PM program using CMMS software to open & close workorders.

· Walking, some sitting, climbing, lifting for a minimum of 8 hours per day.

· Both strong verbal and written communication skills are a must with the ability to comprehend both types of communication. Bilingual is a plus (Spanish/English).

· Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.

· Experience with refrigeration and HVAC systems is a plus.

Mechanics must have their own toolbox & Basic hand tools. Must be willing to work Saturdays and on Rare occasions Sundays.

Requirements

Education: 1 year of industrial maintenance experience education preferred (I.E., possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience

Experience: 1(+) years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent experience

PLC, Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, (preferred but not required)

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills will be necessary to log information, to process daily work orders and to complete required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and basic math skills are necessary to perform this job at a satisfactorily level.

Experience in 3 phase electric and AC/DC control circuitry skills are essential.

Repair packaging machinery, welding and machine shop skills are a plus.

Experience in repairing refrigeration systems is a plus.

Must have own basic hand tools & toolbox.
