Maintenance Crew Member
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Grounds and Maintenance Team Member is responsible for the routine maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep at the Big League Dreams Manteca location. This includes landscaping tasks, minor repairs, and ensuring that the environment is clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for all staff, visitors, and customers. This position is expected to work between 20-30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Landscaping & Grounds Care:
    • Mow, trim, and edge lawns and grassed areas.
    • Maintain flower beds, trees, shrubs, and hedges by pruning, weeding, and watering as necessary
    • Rake leaves, remove litter, and keep grounds clean and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Building & Facility Maintenance:
    • Conduct routine inspections of the premises to identify and address minor maintenance or repair needs (e.g., broken fences, damaged walkways, etc.).
    • Help with general cleaning and upkeep of indoor and outdoor spaces, including sweeping, pressure washing, and trash disposal.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
    • Identify potential hazards or safety issues on the property and report them to management.
    • Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery in a safe and effective working condition.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Work alongside other maintenance team members and departments to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
    • Assist in preparing the facility for special events or seasonal changes.
    • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with employees, visitors, or other departments.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or facility maintenance is preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of hand tools and small machinery, such as lawnmowers, leaf blowers, etc.
    • Experience in general repairs and maintenance is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor in outdoor environments.
    • Comfort working in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).

Work Environment:
  • Will be required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Work occurs at irregular hours, including an established core shift and whenever a tournament, major special event or activity is scheduled at the park.
  • May be required to work some graveyard shifts on weekends
  • May be assigned to special projects and events.
  • Works closely with all site personnel with minimal supervision from senior management to ensure operations run smoothly.
