What To Expect

Seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead localization initiatives and coordinate global software release activities across our vehicle software platforms. You'll ensure our user interfaces and customer-facing content are seamlessly localized for global markets while supporting the end-to-end release cycle from development through rollout. You'll partner closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality software updates on aggressive timelines, driving both efficiency and excellence in every release. The ideal candidate combines deep localization expertise with strong program management skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to Tesla customers worldwide.
What You'll Do
Translate & review customer-facing UI strings, mobile app content, and release notes for your target language; coordinate internal and external review processes to maintain & improve translation quality standardsManage end-to-end localization workflows using tools like Smartling, ensuring timely delivery aligned with release schedulesPerform linguistic QA checks on localized content for each release to identify and address bugs or inconsistenciesTrans-create and manage feature names in compliance with legal, branding, and cultural guidelinesCreate & validate JIRA tickets, monitor newly introduced strings, and address source string issues as neededSoftware release coordination from branch creation to sign-off and ship, ensuring localization deliverables are aligned; coordinate sign-off and rollout schedules with engineering teams, providing hands-on troubleshooting for release-blocking issues where necessaryCollaborate with cross-functional groups (Engineering, Website, Owner's Manual) to align language, style, and terminology across productsOversee the creation and upkeep of linguistic assets, including translation memories, glossaries, style guides, and reference materialsDevelop tools and scripts to streamline localization & release workflows; identify opportunties to apply these processes to more products in the organizationProvide support for engineering fleet operations and software release coordination as needed
What You'll Bring
Translation experience and strong language skills in both English & at least one of the following: Arabic, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified, Traditional, Hong Kong), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (British), Finnish, French (France, Canada), German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, or TurkishExpertise in software localization, including translation, review, and linguistic QA processesDemonstrated experience coordinating software releases or development cycles in a technical environmentProficiency with industry-standard tools such as Stash, JIRA, Jenkins, and GitExperience with Python, Regex, and RestAPI is a plusFamiliarity with Linux/Unix environments and related workflowsExceptional organizational, interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to work autonomously and drive solutions in ambiguous problem spacesFlexibility to work unconventional hours, including weekends, when necessaryStrong sense of curiosity, bias for action, and experience using AI tools productively
