The assistant role typically requires some basic qualifications and involves hands-on tasks, whereas the Weekend Library may refer to the service or program offered by the library.

What are the typical responsibilities and challenges of working in a Weekend Library role?

In a Weekend Library role, you’ll typically be responsible for assisting patrons with locating materials, managing checkouts and returns, and ensuring the library remains organized and welcoming. One common challenge is handling a higher concentration of visitors within a shorter timeframe, as weekends often see increased foot traffic. You may also work more independently or with a smaller team than during weekday shifts, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations. Collaboration with full-time staff is essential to ensure continuity in ongoing projects and communication about any weekend-specific issues.

Can you work at a library with no experience?

Weekend library positions often do not require prior experience, as training is typically provided on the job. Basic skills such as customer service, organization, and familiarity with library systems can be helpful, but many entry-level roles are open to applicants without previous work experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Library Assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Library Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with library management systems, cataloging software, and basic computer applications is often required. Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills help you effectively assist patrons and handle varied tasks during busy weekend hours. These skills ensure smooth library operations, positive patron experiences, and efficient management of library resources.

Job description

Savory Fund is looking for a Marketing Coordinator who is detail-oriented, creative, and excited to help bring restaurant brands to life. You'll support the day-to-day execution of marketing programs across a growing portfolio of restaurant concepts - from scheduling social content and coordinating campaigns to helping pull reports and supporting grand openings.

This role works closely with the Marketing Manager, brand leaders, and external vendors. If you're an early-career marketer who takes initiative, loves the restaurant and hospitality world, and wants to grow inside a fast-moving, multi-brand environment, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across Savory Fund's portfolio of restaurant brands
  • Managing content calendars for social media, email, and digital channels
  • Creating, scheduling, and publishing content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google, and other platforms
  • Monitoring social media engagement, responding to comments and messages, and escalating issues as needed
  • Coordinating the production of marketing assets - photography, videography, graphics, and copy - with internal teams and vendors
  • Assisting with email marketing campaigns including list management, templates, scheduling, and tracking
  • Supporting influencer outreach, partnership coordination, and community engagement initiatives
  • Pulling and compiling reports on digital performance including social metrics, email open rates, and paid ad results
  • Coordinating with agencies, freelancers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of creative and campaign materials
  • Maintaining organized asset libraries - photos, videos, brand guidelines, and materials - across all portfolio brands
  • Supporting new restaurant opening campaigns including local outreach and grand opening materials
  • Assisting with paid social and digital advertising under the direction of the Marketing Manager

This is an execution-focused, hands-on role - you'll help keep multiple brands moving and make sure the details are always right.

What We're Looking For
  • Strong attention to detail with a high standard for quality and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines at once
  • A self-starter who follows through with minimal supervision
  • A creative eye for content, design, and brand consistency
  • Collaborative and positive, with a solutions-focused attitude
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment
  • Willing to travel to restaurant locations and occasionally be available for evenings and weekends
Experience That Helps
  • 1-3 years of marketing experience; internship experience considered
  • Prior experience in restaurant, hospitality, or food & beverage preferred
  • Experience managing brand social media accounts in a professional setting preferred
  • Proficiency with social media scheduling tools (Later, Sprout Social, or similar)
  • Basic proficiency with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Familiarity with email platforms (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar) a plus
  • Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager or Google Analytics a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred
