Job description

Wolfson Children's Hospital is looking to add a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to our Acute Care Rehab Team in downtown Jacksonville, FL.

This is a part‑time opportunity working in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting at Wolfson Children's Hospital and community hospital settings.

This position will provide day shift coverage Monday to Friday and participate in weekend and holiday rotations. The ideal candidate has prior Speech Language Pathology experience working in acute care settings, including NICU experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses.
  • Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions and deficits that impact communication, language development, oral motor skills, and feeding safety and efficiency.
  • Diagnoses conditions that commonly impact these developmental areas, including prematurity, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI, genetic, craniofacial, and developmental delay.
  • Provides extensive patient/family education.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc.
  • Works in a fast‑paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self‑directed, and effective communication skills.
Experience Requirements
  • 1 or more year(s) of pediatric acute care Speech Language Pathology experience strongly preferred.
  • Speech/Language experience.
  • Voice and Neuro Experience.
Education & Credential Requirements
  • Master of Science or Master of Arts required.
  • Doctorate of Arts/Science or Master of Science preferred.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology required.
  • Florida Department of Health Speech Language Pathologist license required.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
