Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist

Job Type: Travel

Profession: Laboratory

Duration: 26 weeks

Shift: Variable - 8 hour shifts, days, evenings, or nights

Hours per Shift: 32 guaranteed hours

Experience: Minimum of 2 years

License: Must be licensed or board eligible

Certifications: Certification from a recognized accrediting body required within one year of employment

Must-Have: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required. Must complete board certification within one year of employment. One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology or formal student internship experience. Certification at the Medical Technologist level by a recognized accrediting body within one year of employment. Clinical laboratory instrumentation knowledge. Must be a generalist in a clinical laboratory. Must be capable of working independently and providing direction to laboratory assistants.

Description: Under the direction of the laboratory manager, this position is responsible for performing laboratory tests and quality control procedures. The role involves communication with healthcare providers and patients. Candidates must have the ability to work independently. Successful candidates will provide direction to medical laboratory assistants. Immunization requirements include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, T-Dap, and Polio, or documentation of titers and/or historical shot records. Proof of completed COVID vaccinations is required. Background checks, drug screens, and additional documentation may be required prior to employment.
