Position Overview
The Lab Technician (Chemistry Lab), conducts open lab hours to assist faculty in the day-to-day laboratory operations at a local or divisional site.
What you will be doing
  • Ensures that Students and faculty have adequate resources to perform all aspects of course requirements
  • Assists Student-Aids to perform all required job duties safely and maintains competency records
  • Ensures that there are adequate resources and supplies for teaching
  • Maintains an "open door policy" and communicates with student, faculty, and administration to promote development and accountability
  • Assists Lab Manager in organizing lab for teaching and testing
  • Organizes and inventories adequate supplies
  • Ensures deliveries are checked & stocked properly
  • Reports malfunctions, discrepancies, & other issues related to the use of equipment and materials to the Lab Manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • Associates degree in related field from a regionally accredited institution or two (2) years of College (60 credits equivalent) and one (1) year of related experience
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow OSHA safety and proper disposal requirements in the laboratory
  • Knowledge and understanding of student and faculty requirements for lab procedures, skills, and testing
  • Ability to positively interact with staff, students, and faculty
  • Possess a friendly demeanor and provide intelligent solutions
  • Possess good communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
