Departmental Overview

We are a high-paced, high-volume lab and have state-of-the-art equipment to get the job done, opportunities for advancement, and also the chance to grow as a current or future leader. Job Summary
  • Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood tests and know all safety requirements.
  • Receives and distributes specimens in the laboratory.
  • Processes specimens for testing, storage and send out to reference laboratories.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of specimen requirements and limitation of testing procedures.
  • Performs waived testing as required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge about the functionality of the Lab's automation line.
  • Acts as a resource for laboratory information.
  • Timeliness of specimen collections and contamination.

Qualifications
Education
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Requires some knowledge of medical terminology.

Experience
  • 3 months phlebotomy experience, or a phlebotomy certificate with 32 hours of clinical rotation, or 6 months experience in a medical field providing patient care which includes drawing blood or blood processing, or current MLT student in clinical rotations, or one or more college level courses in a biological science

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure/Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Compensation/Benefits
  • $15.45-$25.24/hr depending on previous work experience
  • Position qualifies for $1.75/hr PRN differential
