NURSING LAB ASSISTANT (TEMPORARY)
Position Summary
The Nursing Program is seeking a dependable and organized Temporary Nursing Lab Assistant to provide operational support for the nursing skills and simulation lab from July through December 2026. This temporary position will support lab readiness and will assist faculty and students by helping maintain an organized, safe, and well-prepared learning environment. The Temporary Nursing Lab Assistant will provide routine lab support, including preparing lab spaces, organizing supplies, setting up and breaking down equipment, restocking materials, and assisting faculty with basic lab preparation needs.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Familiarity with basic medical equipment, healthcare supplies, or the ability to learn quickly.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Dependability and ability to follow directions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfort working in a nursing lab environment with faculty, students, and staff.
Professional communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in an educational setting.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout lab spaces.
Lift, carry, push, or pull supplies and equipment as needed for lab setup and breakdown.
Set up, organize, and return lab materials and equipment to designated storage areas.
Perform repetitive tasks related to lab preparation, supply organization, and general lab support.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a healthcare, nursing, laboratory, simulation, or educational environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares nursing lab spaces for scheduled skills labs, simulations, faculty demonstrations, and student learning activities.
Sets up and breaks down equipment, supplies, and materials before and after scheduled lab sessions.
Restocks and organizes lab supplies, including basic medical supplies, linens, task trainer materials, and disposable items.
Maintains general cleanliness, order, and readiness of nursing lab spaces.
Assists with inventory organization and communicates supply needs to the appropriate nursing program personnel.
Supports faculty with routine lab preparation needs, including locating supplies, preparing equipment, and ensuring materials are available for scheduled learning activities.
Helps maintain equipment and supplies in designated storage areas.
Follows established lab procedures, safety guidelines, and infection-control expectations.
Assists with tracking supplies and identifying items that need replacement, repair, or replenishment.
Provides general clerical or organizational support related to lab operations as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned to support nursing lab readiness and program operations.
